Combining Recordings

Merge multiple recordings into a single, cohesive summary

Sometimes a single conversation spans multiple recordings—for example, if you take a break during a meeting or experience a brief connection drop. Combining Conversations allows you to merge these related snippets into one unified memory.

Why Combine Conversations?

  • Multi-Part Meetings: Connect sessions that were interrupted or split across different times.
  • Cohesive Insights: Get a single AI summary that understands the full context of all merged recordings.
  • Clutter Reduction: Turn five short clips into one well-organized memory in your history.

How to Combine

  1. Open Memory Menu: Tap the three-dots menu at the top right of the home screen.
  2. Select Combine Conversations: Choose "Combine Conversations" from the options. This enters a special selection mode.
  3. Select Your Memories: Tap the recordings you want to merge. You must select at least two.
  4. Combine: Tap the orange "Combine" button in the bottom action bar.

What Happens Next?

  • Background Processing: Pocket works in the background to combine the audio and transcripts. You'll see a "Processing" indicator on a new entry titled "Merged Memory".
  • Re-Summarization: The AI analyzes the combined content to create a fresh, high-level summary that reflects the context of all merged recordings.
  • Originals Preserved: Your original recordings are not removed. They remain in your history, but you now have a new, unified entry that brings them together.

Use Combining Conversations for long events like conferences or all-day workshops to keep your "Ask Pocket" queries more focused and accurate.
