Pause and Resume
Pause a recording without stopping, then pick up where you left off
Need a break mid-meeting or want to skip a sensitive moment? Pause and resume lets you temporarily stop capturing without ending the recording.
Requires Pocket firmware 1.8 or later. Update from Settings → Pocket Device → Firmware if you do not see pause controls in the app.
How it works
- Pause and resume recordings directly from the app. While recording, tap Pause on the recording sheet. Tap Resume when you are ready to continue.
- Double-tap your Pocket to pause. With a recording in progress, double-press the side button to pause on the device.
- Double-tap or single-tap again to resume. From a paused state, either a single press or a double-press of the side button resumes recording.
- Amber light = recording
- White light = paused
From the app
- Start a recording as usual — press the side button once or tap Record in the app.
- Tap Pause on the recording sheet when you need a break.
- Tap Resume to continue. The recording stays in one file until you stop.
You can still Stop a paused recording at any time to finish and save it.

Tip: The status light is the fastest way to confirm state at a glance — amber means you are actively recording, white means paused.
