Speaker Management
Organize and identify the voices in your conversations
Pocket automatically detects different speakers in your recordings. Speaker Management allows you to turn those generic "Speaker 1" labels into a well-organized library of people.
Identification (Tagging)
When a new speaker is detected, they appear as an "Untagged Speaker." You can give them a name to make your transcripts and summaries much easier to read.
- Open a Recording: Tap on any transcript where voices were detected.
- Tag Speaker: Tap the speaker label and enter their name.
- Global Update: Once you've named a speaker, Pocket will recognize them across your other recordings.
Merging Speakers
Sometimes the same person might be detected as two different speakers (e.g., if their voice sounds different on a call versus in person). You can merge these profiles:
- Access Speaker Management: Go to Profile > Speaker Management.
- Select Speakers: Enter selection mode and select the duplicate profiles.
- Merge: Tap Merge and choose the primary name to keep. All associated recordings will now be linked to that single speaker.
Speaker Insights
From the Speaker Management screen, you can tap on any named speaker to:
- View All Recordings: See every conversation where this person was a participant.
- Rename: Update their global display name.
- Delete: Remove a speaker profile from your library (this resets them to "Untagged" in your transcripts).
Deleting a speaker profile does not delete the recordings themselves; it only removes the naming and organization associated with that person.
